Deg-1 is a a bifunctional probe with a cleavage group and a covalent binding group. Deg-1 covalently binds to the target nucleic acid, and serves as click-degrader to cleave a nucleic acid molecule. Deg-1 has potential to selectively cleave target nucleic acids in cells[1]. It contains an azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) with molecules containing alkyne groups. It can also undergo ring strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
