KY-455 is a novel inhibitor of acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT). KY-455 inhibita rabbit intestinal, hepatic, macrophage and adrenal ACAT with IC50 values of 0.4, 0.9, 2.9 and 4.1 µmol/L, respectively.
