Ferroleuton is a competitive, selective inhibitor for 5-lipoxygenase with an IC50 of 0.21 µM. Ferroleuton exhibits antioxidant activity in DPPH (scavenges 86% DPPH-H at 50 µM), ABTS (EC50=19.42 µM) and FRAP (EC50=3.32 µM) assays[1].
