Navamepent (RX-10045) is the isopropyl ester prodrug of RX-10008, an analog of Resolvin E1 (HY-114041). Navamepent modulates substrate accumulation and permeability mediated by efflux transporters, inhibits OCT-1-mediated substrate uptake, and enhances the permeability of efflux transporter substrates across cell monolayers. Navamepent inhibits the release of proinflammatory mediators, promotes cell survival, accelerates tear production, protects goblet cells, alleviates corneal inflammation and epithelial damage, and accelerates corneal tissue repair. Navamepent can be used in research related to dry eye disease and corneal stromal opacity[1][3].
