DXR-IN-5 is a Plasmodium falciparum 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate reductoisomerase (DXR) inhibitor with an IC50 of 0.0058 µM. DXR-IN-5 inhibits DOXP and NADPH binding to DXR with Ki values of 0.0013 and 0.068 µM. DXR-IN-5 inhibits growth of Plasmodium falciparum parasites, including multidrug-resistant strains. DXR-IN-5 can be used for the research of malaria[1].
