Byakangelicol is an orally active furanocoumarin that can cross the blood-brain barrier. Byakangelicol exhibits antitumor effects by inducing ROS accumulation, triggering mitochondria-mediated apoptosis and cell cycle arrest, with its mechanism involving upregulation of the JNK/p38 signaling pathway and downregulation of signaling pathways such as AKT, ERK and STAT3. Byakangelicol downregulates the TLR3/TLR4/MyD88/SARM1/NF-kappaB axis to reduce microglial activation and neuroinflammation. By inhibiting COX-2 expression, regulating macrophage polarization and suppressing the NF-kappaB signaling pathway, Byakangelicol effectively inhibits osteoclast activation and inflammatory responses. Byakangelicol can be used in studies related to liver cancer, ischemic stroke and periprosthetic osteolysis[1][2][3].
