Maitotoxin (MTX) disodium is a Ca2+ channel activator and a water-soluble toxin present in the Ctenochaetus striatus. Maitotoxin disodium exhibits significant biological toxicity. Maitotoxin disodium induces severe vomiting in cats. Maitotoxin disodium causes loss of mobility, limb weakness, convulsions and even death in mice[1].
