2alpha-Acetoxy-14,15-cyclopimara-7beta,16-diol (compound 2) is a potential anti-inflammatory agent, exhibiting weak anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting inflammation-related NO production. 2alpha-Acetoxy-14,15-cyclopimara-7beta,16-diol only inhibits nitric oxide (NO) production in LPS-induced RAW264.7 macrophages, with an inhibition rate of 28.1%. 2alpha-Acetoxy-14,15-cyclopimara-7beta,16-diol can be naturally extracted from the 70% ethanol extract of the seeds of Caesalpinia minax Hance (a plant of the Caesalpinia genus in the Fabaceae family)[1].
