Pulvic acid (Compound 3), a butenolide, is a microbial secondary metabolite. Pulvic acid can be isolated from the marine-derived fungus Aspergillus terreus Gwq-48. Pulvic acid has significant antiviral activity with an IC50 of 29.1 µg/mL for influenza A H1N1 virus. Pulvic acid can be used for influenza virus infections research[1].
