Hunnemanine is a protoberberine-type isoquinoline alkaloid with significant antifungal activity. At a concentration of 1000 ppm, Hunnemanine completely inhibits spore germination of a variety of phytopathogenic fungi, including Alternaria brassicae, Helminthosporium pennisetti, and Fusarium lini. Hunnemanine can be applied to studies on the infection mechanisms of phytopathogenic fungi and related control strategies[1].
