Isoscoparin is an antioxidant that directly protects mitochondria. By activating the conserved SKN-1/Nrf2 and DAF-16/FOXO signaling pathways, isoscoparin upregulates the expression of a series of antioxidant enzymes and stress proteins (such as SOD, CAT, GST, etc.), thereby enhancing the ability of cells to scavenge ROS. Isoscoparin can be used to study diseases closely related to oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction[1].
