Penicillin amidase, E. coli (Immobilized) serves as a starting material in the synthesis of semi-synthetic penicillins. Penicillin amidase, E. coli (Immobilized) promotes the production of semi-synthetic beta-lactam antibiotics, participates in peptide synthesis, and catalyzes the formation of chiral compounds.
