Cys-HAP-1 is a synovium-homing peptide that specifically binds to human and rabbit fibroblast-like synoviocytes, and does not bind to human umbilical vein endothelial cells regardless of TNF-alpha treatment. Cys-HAP-1 enables targeted drug delivery to inflamed joints after conjugation with liposomes loaded with anti-arthritic agents. Cys-HAP-1 can be used in studies related to adjuvant arthritis[1].
