scHAP-1 is a disordered HAP-1 peptide that specifically binds to human and rabbit fibroblast-like synoviocytes, but shows extremely weak binding to human umbilical vein endothelial cells. scHAP-1L can efficiently and specifically accumulate in inflamed joints in vivo. scHAP-1 significantly improves the targeted delivery efficiency of drugs to inflamed joints when conjugated as a targeting ligand to drug-loaded liposomes, thereby enhancing anti-inflammatory efficacy and prolonging the duration of drug action. scHAP-1 is applicable to studies related to rheumatoid arthritis[1].
