Boc-GRR-AMC is a synthetic fluorescent oligopeptide substrate with arginine at the P1 position. Boc-GRR-AMC can be specifically cleaved by target proteases including Japanese encephalitis virus NS2B-NS3pro, Dengue Virus CF40-Gly-NS3pro185, and Arabidopsis thaliana type II caspases Atmc4 and Atmc9, releasing the fluorescent substance AMC. This substrate achieves optimal cleavage by PhMC1 under pH 7-9 conditions, and this process is dependent on the active-site cysteine. Boc-GRR-AMC can be used to measure caspase-like activity in senescent petunia corollas, as well as to evaluate the effects of protease inhibitors on Atmc4 and Atmc9 and verify the autocatalytic processing requirement of Atmc9. Boc-GRR-AMC is widely used in studies related to Japanese encephalitis, dengue fever and their complications[1][2].
