As a cell adhesion molecule, AOC3 protein plays a key role in lymphocyte extravasation and recycling by promoting the binding of lymphocytes to peripheral lymph node vascular endothelial cells, independent of L-selectin. In addition to its role in cell adhesion, AOC3 exhibits semicarbazide-sensitive monoamine oxidase activity, contributing to its enzymatic function.
