The procollagen alpha 1/COL1A1 protein is an important type I collagen component and forms a trimeric structure with alpha 2(I) and two alpha 1(I) chains. It interacts with MRC2, associates with MFAP4 in a Ca2+-dependent manner, and interacts with TRAM2.
