MGL2/CD301b is a type II lectin commonly used as a marker for alternatively activated macrophages. MGL2 can bind to terminal GalNAc residues, including the Tn antigen (GalNAc-alphaThr/Ser). MGL2 is mainly expressed on immature, tolerogenic or type-2 DCs and alternatively-activated macrophages[1][2].
