The GCKR protein plays a critical regulatory role in glucokinase (GCK) by forming an inactive complex and recruiting GCK to the nucleus after meals. Its interaction with GCK is finely tuned by fructose metabolites, binding of GCKR to fructose-6-phosphate increases the affinity for GCK, whereas binding to fructose-1-phosphate decreases the affinity, thereby releasing inhibition. GCKR Protein, Human (P.pastoris, His) is the recombinant human-derived GCKR protein, expressed by P. pastoris , with N-His labeled tag.
