DKK-1 Proteinas are potent antagonists of canonical Wnt signaling, inhibiting LRP5/6-Wnt interactions and forming a ternary complex with KREMEN to promote LRP5/6 internalization. In addition to its proapoptotic function by antagonizing KREMEN1 independently of Wnt, DKK-1 also exhibits antiapoptotic activity.
