The CSF1R protein is a tyrosine protein kinase receptor for CSF1 and IL34 and plays a critical regulatory role in hematopoietic cells, especially mononuclear phagocytes. Its effects span innate immunity, inflammation, osteoclast function, skeletal development, and fertility.
