CD84/SLAMF5 protein is a self-ligand receptor in the SLAM family that regulates the activities of various immune cells through homotypic or heterotypic cell-cell interactions. It fine-tunes its function based on the presence or absence of small cytoplasmic adapter proteins, including SH2D1A/SAP and/or SH2D1B/EAT-2.
