NSC3852 is a HDAC inhibitor that binds Zn2+ ions to inhibit HDAC activity. NSC3852 exhibits anticancer activity, which ultimately induces cell differentiation, growth arrest and apoptosis by triggering ROS, causing DNA damage, and affecting key cell cycle proteins. NSC3852 also has antiparasitic activity and is effective against Apicomplexan protozoa, such as Toxoplasma gondii and Plasmodium falciparum[1][2][3].
