CBIQ (4-Chlorobenzo[f]isoquinoline) is a cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) Cl- ion channel and the intermediate-conductance calcium-sensitive K+ channel (KCNN4) activator with Kd values of 0.1 and 3.9 µM. CBIQ increases open state probability of CFTR and KCNN4 without altering channel conductance, and produces inwardly rectifying current via KCNN4. CBIQ promotes epithelial chloride secretion. CBIQ can be used for the research of cystic fibrosis[1][2].
