Mono (2-ethyl-5-hydroxyhexyl) terephthalate upregulates LXRalpha downstream targets such as SREBP-1c and FASN and increases lipogenic enzyme activity in hepatocytes, and elevating triglyceride (TG) levels. Mono (2-ethyl-5-hydroxyhexyl) terephthalate is promising for research of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)[1].
