Brucine N-oxide is a natural alkaloid isolated from the seeds of Strychnos nux-vomica with analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity. Brucine N-oxide inhibits prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) in Carrageenan (HY-125474)-induced rat paw edema and reduces 6-keto-PGF1alpha in Freunds complete adjuvant (FCA) (HY-153808)-induced arthritis rats blood plasma. Brucine N-oxide can be used for research of diseases associated with pain and inflammation[1].
