Non-viable cell pellet was generated from cell line WM3792. WM3792 is a metastatic human melanoma cell line that displays a dendritic morphology. This cell line contains V600K (Val600Lys) mutation at codon 600 in the BRAF gene. This mutation occurs within the activation segment of the kinase domain and causes constitutively active kinase activity and activation of MEK and ERK signaling pathway. This cell line also expresses a novel mutation--the deletion of codon 601, and contains a PTEN loss of function including homozygous deletion. WM3792 cells produce xenograft tumors when injected into immunocompromised mice.
