Apoptosisinducer 30 (Compound 15a) acts as an anticancer agent. It induces apoptosis in MCF-7 cells through the mitochondrial pathway. This compound elevates intracellular levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), decreases mitochondrial membrane potential, and arrests the cell cycle at the G0/G1 phase. Apoptosisinducer 30 inhibits cell growth, with an IC50 value of 0.32 µM against MCF-7 cells, and suppresses tumor growth in a mouse breast cancer model.
