TMPRSS6-IN-1 (TFA) is a potent inhibitor of TMPRSS6 (Matriptase-2), a member of the TTSP family (a type of transmembrane serine protease). TMPRSS6 is a type II TTSP, and genetically reduced levels of TMPRSS6 have been shown to improve symptoms of hemochromatosis and beta-thalassemia in mice.
