7-PPD is a substituted p-phenylenediamine (PPD). It is toxic to the bacterium V. fisheri (EC50 = 0.8 mg/L). This compound is also toxic to rats (LD50 = 2,100 mg/kg). Formulations containing 7-PPD have been used as anti-odorants and polymer inhibitors in rubber.
