LysoFP-NO2 is a fluorescent probe that specifically targets lysosomes for carbon monoxide (CO) detection. In the presence of CO within lysosomes, LysoFP-NO2 is converted into lysoFP-NH2, which exhibits strong fluorescence. The probe shows high selectivity for CO over various reactive nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur species. Its excitation/emission maxima are at 440/528 nm, and at a concentration of 30 µM, it remains non-cytotoxic to HepG2 cells for up to 5 hours.
