Antimalarial agent 51 (Compound 2) is an orally active antimalarial compound that inhibits the growth of Plasmodium parasites by blocking nutrient uptake through the Plasmodium Surface Anion Channel (PSAC). This agent significantly restricts parasite growth under nutrient-limiting conditions and demonstrates enhanced effectiveness in combination with the residual transport inhibitor PRT-2. It is suitable for research on PSAC-targeting malaria.
