GaSal-2 is a water-soluble anti-Pseudomonas agent that targets the extracellular heme-binding protein, HasAp. By tightly binding to HasAp, GaSal-2 inhibits the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa by blocking the transcriptional activation of signal cascades on the bacterial cell surface.
