JD-13 is a novel and potent Hsp90alpha inhibitor that binds to the ATP-binding pocket of Hsp90alpha (Kd = 1.60 µM), downregulates the Akt/beta-catenin pathway, inhibits both wild-type and acyclovir-resistant HSV-1 infections, and alleviates skin lesions in guinea pigs caused by HSV-1 infection.
