Piliformic acid is a fungal metabolite found in [N. pseudotrichia] with diverse biological activities. It is cytotoxic to BC-1 human breast cancer cells (IC50 = 5 µg/ml) and active against [L. braziliensis] amastigotes (IC50 = 78.5 µM). It also shows activity against the plant pathogenic fungi [C. gloeosporioides] (MIC = 292 µM).
