Functionalized nanoparticles are applicable for the targeted labeling of specific cell proteins. Using streptavidin as a linker, biotin-modified PEG-lipid conjugated polymer nanoparticles can bind with biotinylated antibodies on cell surface receptors, facilitating fluorescence-based imaging and sensing applications.
