mPEG-N3 (MW 2000) is useful for modifying proteins, peptides, and various materials. The azide group allows for reactions with alkynes in copper-catalyzed aqueous solutions and can be readily reduced to an amine. Pegylation enhances solubility and stability while reducing the immunogenicity of peptides and proteins. Additionally, mPEG-N3 (MW 2000) can inhibit nonspecific binding of charged molecules to modified surfaces.
