DSPE-PEG8-azide (DSPE-PEG8-N3) is a lipid-containing azide used in forming micelles for nanoparticle-based drug delivery. As a click chemistry reagent, it features an azide group that participates in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) with molecules containing alkyne groups. Additionally, it can undergo strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) with molecules bearing DBCO or BCN groups.
