Silane-PEG-N3 (MW 400) (Silane-PEG-azide (MW 400)) is a PEG derivative comprising silane, PEG units, and an azide group. It can modify glass, silicon, or other surfaces through a hydroxyl reaction with ethoxy (methoxy) silane. The azide group facilitates copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) with alkyne-containing molecules and strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) with DBCO or BCN group-containing molecules.
