Lurasidone hydrochloride is a thiazole derivative and atypical antipsychotic agent that functions as a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, serotonin 5-HT2 receptor antagonist, serotonin 5-HT7 receptor antagonist, an antagonist of the adrenergic alpha2A and alpha2C receptors, as well as a partial serotonin 5-HT1A receptor agonist. It is used in the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
