Inosinic acid is the ribonucleotide of hypoxanthine and is the first compound formed during the synthesis of purine.Inosine 5'-monophosphate (IMP) is used as a substrate to study the distribution, specificity and kinetics of inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH).
