Ailanthoidol has anti-inflammatory activity, it inhibits inflammatory reactions by macrophages and protects mice from endotoxin shock. It also possesses potential as a chemopreventive agent against tumor promotion. Ailanthoidol has anti-adipogenic activity, it effectively suppresses adipogenesis and that it exerts its role mainly through the significant down-regulation of PPARgamma and C/EBPalpha expression.
