Euphorbetin has highly selective antiproliferative activity toward colon cancer cell lines including T84 and HCT-15 as well as glioblastoma multiforme cells. Euphorbetin induces cell death by activating caspases-9, -3, and -8, while promoting autophagy, reducing cancer cell migration, and exerting antiangiogenic effects on human umbilical vein endothelial cells, indicating robust multimodal anticancer potential.
