beta-Xylosidase (thermostable) releases reducing sugars from birchwood xylan and catalyzes the hydrolysis of 4-methylumbelliferyl-beta-D-cellobioside and 4-methylumbelliferyl-beta-D-glucopyranoside. It lacks endoxylanase, arabinoxylanase, and beta-glucanase activity. Post-translational glycosylation modifies beta-Xylosidase.
