Topoisomerase II beta, Human (EC 5.99.1.3) is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in DNA replication, transcription, chromosome segregation, and recombination. All cells contain two primary types of topoisomerases: Type I topoisomerases, which can cleave single-stranded DNA, and Type II topoisomerases, which can cut and pass through double-stranded DNA.
