17-Methylstearic acid is a methyl-branched fatty acid identified in the meibomian glands of mice, the mushroom C. cornucopioides, and species of the genus Pseudomonas. It has also been detected in the aerial parts of C. ladanifer, where its concentration exhibits seasonal variation.
