14-3-3 proteins are present as multigene Protein kinase C inhibitor protein 1, KCIP-1 families in most organisms. Signal-induced phosphorylation has the ability to change protein function. Sometimes, however, phosphorylation is not enough to change a proteins function. 14-3-3 proteins play an important role of bringing signal transduction to completion. They regulate many cellular processes that are important in cancer biology, such as apoptosis and cell-cycle checkpoints. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000. Detects a band of ~ 33kD. Immunofluorescence (IC): 1:50-1:250 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
