A beta2-adrenergic agonist. Bronchodilator, tocolytic. Fenoterol hydrobromide is a sympathomimetic drug. It is used to treat asthma, bronchitis and emphysema.[1] Fenoterol administration might be linked to liver damage.[2] It has anti-inflammatory effects on eosinophil function.[3] Fenoterol hydrobromide has been used in chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC&-MS-MS) for specific and sensitive detection of beta-agonists (BAG).[4] Synonyms: 2-(3,5-Dihydroxyphenyl)-2-hydroxy-2'-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1'-methyldiethylamine hydrobromide, 5-[1-Hydroxy-2-[[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1-methylethyl]amino]ethyl]-1,3-benzenediol Hydrobromide, 1-(3,5-Dihydroxyphenyl)-2-[2-(3-p-hydroxyphenyl)propylamino]ethanol Hydrobromide, Airum, Berotec, Dosberotec, Fenoterol Bromide, Partusisten, Phenoterol Hydrobromide, Th 1165a CAS No: 1944-12-3 Free base: 13392-18-2 Molecular Formula: C17H22BrNO4 Molecular Weight: 384.26 Appearance: White to off-white solid Purity: As reported Melting Point: 222-225C (dec.)
