Recombinant corresponding to human PNMT (1-282aa) expressed in E. coli.
Phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase (PNMT) catalyzes the synthesis of epinephrine and plays an important role in regulating cardiovascular function. Expression of PNMT is regulated by hormonal and neural stimuli because its promoter contains sequences responding to cholinergic and depolarization stimuli. PNMT is the final enzyme in the catecholamine pathway, catalyzing the conversion of norepinephrine to epinephrine using as the cosubstrate and methyl donor, S-adenosylmethionine. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
