Product Description

Cathepsin F, also known as CTSF, belongs to the cathepsin family. Cathepsins are papain family cysteine proteinases that represent a major component of the lysosomal proteolytic system. This protein is thought to play a role in normal protein catabolism, and because it is highly expressed in some cancer cell lines, it may be involved in degradative processes occurring during tumor progression. The CTSF gene may function as a tumor suppressor in Gastric cancer and may be a potential therapeutic target in the treatment of Gastric cancer. It also can be used as an alternative way to test for the disease known as Opisthorchis Viverrini. Recombinant human Cathepsin F protein, fused to His-Tag at C-terminal, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
